Vectech awarded Microsoft Innovation Acceleration Award

Vectech, a startup developing innovative insect detection and monitoring technologies, announced today it has been awarded the Microsoft Innovation Acceleration Award. The award includes $25,000 in grant funding and free credits and licenses for Microsoft products to support the company. Vectech was one of three Johns Hopkins University startups to receive the award.
Vectech is developing applied optics and computer vision approaches that are able to identify vector species. Vectech's technology can be implemented in a variety of tools, from public health operations, to citizen science, and entomolgical research.

The Microsoft Innovation Acceleration award is offered to advance businesses that are using data science and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to address societal problems.
