Vectech Awarded FastForward U’s Inaugural Graduate Student Award

Vectech, a startup developing innovative insect detection and monitoring technologies, announced today it has been awarded $5,000 in grant funding through Johns Hopkins University’s FastForward U. Vectech is one of four teams selected of forty applicants who applied for the inaugural Graduate Student Award. As Graduate Student Awardees, Vectech will also receive mentorship from experts in their field, serial entrepreneurs and investors, as well as additional resources from FastForward U and Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures.
Vectech is developing applied optics and computer vision approaches that are able to identify vector species. Vectech's technology can be implemented in a variety of tools, from public health operations, to citizen science, and entomolgical research.
