Vectech converts to a Public Benefit Corporation

January 24, 2023, Baltimore, MD

Vectech, Inc., a startup providing AI entomology solutions that assist pest control organizations in achieving the best outcomes, announced today that it has officially converted to a Public Benefit Corporation.

Vectech’s conversion to a Public Benefit Corporation aligns its legal charter to emphasize its longtime goal to support environmental health, local communities, and efforts to mitigate and end vector-borne diseases. The company was initially founded to bridge the information gap facing mosquito control responders during the Zika epidemic, so it understands how to combine public needs with solutions for greater impact.

“We believe that Vectech’s partnerships with local communities and public health organizations are among its greatest strengths”, said Tristan Ford, CEO of Vectech. “Our team is very motivated by the positive impact our products have had on our partners, and we wanted to ensure that strong relationships and impact remain ingrained in our company’s DNA. Today’s conversion to a Public Benefit Corporation formalizes this in our charter”.

Public Benefit Corporations are for-profit entities that consider communities impacted by the company and specific public benefits adopted in its charter, when making business decisions. Public Benefit Corporations must take steps to produce public benefits and operate in a responsible and sustainable manner.
