Vectech raises pre-seed funding through Maryland Innovation Initiative

August 13, 2020, Baltimore, MD

Vectech, a startup developing innovative insect detection and monitoring technologies, announced today it received a $150,000 pre-seed investment through the Maryland Innovation Initiative program. Vectech was one of six companies MII invested in during its recent round.

"This investment from the Maryland Innovation Initiative will support the expansion of Vectech's technology," said Tristan Ford, Chief Executive Officer of Vectech. "There are several key technical challenges with practical use of computer vision in context of entomological workflows in public health. This pre-seed funding will allow us to address some of these challenges and accelerate our pathway to market."
